Problem:
Even when I'm not pushing the 'talk' button, the radio is transmitting what I say.
Solution:
First, this can only occur on the CLS 1410. That unit is capable of VOX (voice activated) operation.
To prevent the headset from transmitting everything, VOX on the unit must be disabled. Do one of the following while the headset is plugged in:
- Press the 'push-to-talk' button to override the VOX. The person speaking on screen will disappear.
- Completely disable VOX by turning the radio off, then turning it back on and pressing the 'Menu' button once. You should see a flashing number with an 'E' next to it. Press the '+' or '-" keys until the flashing number is set to zero. Wait until the radio beeps and you should see the person speaking flashing in the lower right corner. Now you must push the 'push-to-talk' button to transmit.
